FAQ: MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Jewels

Our workshop is RJC certified: RJC is the world’s leading sustainability standard setting organisation for the jewellery and watch industry.

In jewelry, the carat is a measure of the purity of precious metals such as gold. One carat represents 1⁄24 of the total mass of an alloy. 24 carat gold is pure gold.

Gold is a noble metal, that is to say that it resists corrosion and does not oxidize either to water or air (therefore its yellow luster lasts), what is more, it is works easily.

A fine gold jewel that would be fine, would easily deform during a false movement or a shock. It is for this reason that it is combined with other materials which will give it superior mechanical resistance without altering its other advantageous physical properties (noble and ductile material).

Carat is the unit used to measure the weight of stones. The metric carat, adopted in 1907, corresponds to 0.20 g.

1 carat = 0.20 gram.

The weight of the diamond is one of the determining factors of the price, along with the size, the color and the clarity. The weight is measured to the nearest hundredth and the carat is divided into 100 points. We speak of a “25 points” to designate 1/4 carat and of a “1/2 point” for half a carat.

There are several classifications of diamonds based on 4 criteria:

Color (classification from D for the purest, to Z). We have chosen to offer you class G diamonds: Extra white, used in jewelry and jewelry, formerly called “Top Wesselton”.
Clarity: diamonds are classified according to different degrees of purity according to the inclusions they present. The inclusion is an impurity in the internal part of the stone similar to a puncture or an anomaly in its crystal structure Our diamonds are class VS: they have very small inclusions, very difficult to detect with a magnifying glass and never visible with naked eye.

The size (cut): The diamond is a sensor and a reflector of light. When a diamond is cut in “good proportions”, the light captured is reflected in the facets, one after the other, making the most of the diamond’s high refractive property, to finally emerge from above the stone.
Diamond shapes – (Shape): we distinguish the size of the round brilliant from the so-called “fancy” sizes, like the princess, emerald, oval … and many others.

We mainly use the round brilliant cut shape (57 facets). This is certainly the most successful, the one whose study of optimal proportions has been the most extensive.

The necklaces and bracelets are available in a single model: some of these can be adapted because they can be adjusted with different sizes.

If you wish, our necklaces and bracelets can be lengthened or shortened at your request: this will be the subject of an estimate which will be communicated to you and which must be validated before any modification.

We advise you to base yourself on the size of one of your jewels. It is possible to print a ringer that you find at the bottom of our site or from the pages of Rings.

We can manufacture the different models of rings from size 47 to size 62. If you want to enlarge or shrink your ring, it is possible to do it for 2 sizes above or 2 sizes below. This operation will be subject to a preliminary estimate.

On a daily basis, dust and small dirt collects at the back of a stone and prevent light from passing through. This makes your jewelry duller and less shiny. To restore your stones to their natural shine, simply clean them approximately every 2 months. Use warm soapy water and a small, very soft toothbrush. You will be able to reach every corner of your jewel with delicacy and eliminate all traces of dust.

You can also make them repolish which will give them a new shine.

The jewelry is delicate. Even if they are made with resistant metals and precious stones reputed to be solid, we invite you to take the greatest care to ensure that they keep their luster over time. Not all stones have the same hardness and it can happen that a stone breaks or scratches, even for the hardest of them. A piece of jewelry that is often worn shows signs of wear over time: jewelry that is aged and that’s normal. Tested in everyday life, jewelry evolves over time, which is why it is important to take care of it.

It can also darken with the PH of the skin, the sun and the air: this is why it should be cleaned regularly. You can leave it overnight in a glass of water with washing-up liquid, then dry it and finally and rub it with a soft cloth.

Avoid wearing your jewelry when you sleep, play sports, or do manual activities. Remove them when you shower or wash your hands (because it does not like humidity). Similarly when you go to the swimming pool or at the seaside, avoid bathing with your jewelry. Jewelry does not like soap, perfumes, or cosmetics and even less cleaning products!

And above all, do not put your jewelry in the same pouch: they will bump and could be damaged! Store them in a separate pocket or in your Angèle Brousse case.

If your jewelry has a manufacturing defect, contact us via the contact form or by sending an email to contact@angelebrousse.com. We will bear the costs of return and return, as well as the cost of repair. We will keep you informed of repair times.

If your request concerns damage due to improper use, poor maintenance or normal wear and tear, the repair will be at your expense as well as the costs of return and return. After examining your jewelry by our workshop, we will send you a quote and repair times.

If you made your purchase elsewhere than on our e-commerce site, we invite you to contact directly the store or the website.

Your jewelry is guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase. It is important to present the invoice as proof of purchase. The warranty covers only manufacturing defects. In the case of damage due to impact or improper maintenance, the repair will be subject to a personalized estimate.
